Emerging masterplan ![]()
The Emerging Masterplan The Masterplan shows the refurbishment and conversion of the main hospital building, the farm buildings, the chapel and the lodges. It also proposes the redevelopment of the areas of land either side of the main building for new homes and mixed uses. Three new hubs are proposed where business, social, sporting and cultural activities are focused. The hubs will be made up of uses complementing not competing with the uses currently offered in the village. It is proposed that, where the plan permits, the main building be converted to residential use. In addition, five clusters of new homes are proposed along the sides of the site in place of poor quality existing buildings needing to be demolished. A landscape plan forms the flesh of the scheme where the parkland and woodland areas to the north are protected, the cricket pitch is reinstated and the areas of landscape running down to the nature reserve are used for energy generation, water cleansing and food production.
